Water conservation is good practice whether or not there is a drought.

Toilets manufactured before 1994 are a major water waster. So since 2008, the city of Pullman has been offering a toilet rebate of up to $125 to residents who replace their existing pre-code toilet with a new, ultralow-flow toilet.

Between March 2008 and December 2008, rebates were issued for 223 toilets. With an average of 12.2 gallons per day saved by updating their toilets, Pullman residents conserved an estimated 500,000 gallons of water in 2008.

The city goal is to distribute 882 rebates over the course of six years. If you are interested in learning more about this program, call 338-3204 or complete and return this form.
