This is an administrative and technical support position for the Police Department with shift and weekend work required. Provides clerical, typing, and receptionist assistance in an office with a high volume of administrative support activities. Transcribes information from a digital dictation system to a computer database. Receives incoming business and non-emergency telephone calls for the Police Department. Assists the public at the reception counter. Controls access to the jail and monitors activity inside this area. Receives and processes cash payments. Operates a computer and a variety of software.
Qualifications include: high school diploma or GED; at least 12 months clerical experience; at least 12 months personal computer experience; WINDOWS and MSWORD experience preferred; ability to type 40 words per minute at 90% accuracy; experience setting up and/or organizing and maintaining a filing system.
