Cancellations, Closures, and Schedule Changes

Wow! What unbelievable weather we had this summer! We had near perfect conditions. Hopefully you got out enjoyed a day at Reaney pool, a night at the Movies in the Park, or Concerts in the Park, or even a walk or bike ride on one of our many paths/trails. If not, the good news is the Palouse weather should still provide you the opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy some of your favorite activities as we move into the fall season.

On November 7, 2017 the City of Pullman will ask voters for their approval on two separate bond measures. One will be to issue $2.4 million in general obligation bonds for the purpose of providing funds to finance improvements, repairs, and upgrades to city parks, and improvements to and creation of new city paths. The second bond will be to issue $10.5 million in general obligation bonds for the purpose of providing funds to purchase the current site of Encounter Ministries (190 SE Crestview St.). Improvements include the remodeling and equipping of a new Recreation Center, Senior Center, and City administrative offi ces at this location. The bond would also include the acquisition, construction, and installation of a new Lawson Gardens pavilion and event facility, and site acquisition for a future third fire station.

We encourage you to become informed about these two bond measures by attending one of the many Open Houses that are listed on pg. 3 of this brochure, visiting the 2017 Bond Information webpage  www.pullman-wa.gov/2017-bondinformation, emailing us at: pullmanbond@ pullman-wa.gov, or taking advantage of other opportunities this fall where information will be presented and become knowledgeable about the bond measures before you.

As always, thank you to everyone for your continued support of the Parks & Recreation Department. Whether your family is involved in one of our many activities or a user of the parks and paths, your support goes is valuable in making Pullman a special community.
