Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week
PULLMAN – Endorsed by the National Animal Care & Control Association, the week of April 8-14, 2018 celebrates and promotes professionalism amongst animal care and control professionals nationwide.
This week, the Pullman Police Department gives special recognition to our three full-time Code Enforcement Officers (CEOs); Elizabeth Oje, Emily Johns, and Ashley Lam. In addition to their parking and code enforcement duties, Pullman PD CEOs handle animal control for the City of Pullman. They protect and educate the public, while protecting the welfare of local animals suffering from disease, injury, abuse or starvation. In 2017, Pullman PD responded to approximately 700 calls for animal-related service in our city. The Pullman Police Department recognizes the important role of these staff members and their dedication to protecting the health and welfare of our community members and their animal friends.
The Pullman Police Department also recognizes the hard-working staff and volunteers of the Whitman County Humane Society. The WCHS team provides continued support and quality care to Pullman animals through essential rescue, shelter, and adoption services. The Pullman Police Department is honored to work with the Whitman County Humane Society, and we thank them for their contributions to our community.
