Shooting Injures Two

PULLMAN – On October 29, 2017 at about 1:45 am, Pullman Police officers heard two gunshots as they were responding to a noise complaint in the 1000 block of Duncan. When officers arrived on Duncan Lane, they found numerous persons running in all directions. Officers located two victims with gunshot wounds; a 19-year-old male with a wound to his right torso, and a 17-year-old male with a wound to his arm. Both victims were transported to Pullman Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 19-year-old was later released from the hospital.

Investigation revealed that a group of subjects attending a party on Duncan Lane surrounded a vehicle attempting to leave the area. The group was trying to forcibly remove someone from the vehicle when shots were fired from the vehicle, striking the victims. The crowd scattered and the vehicle fled before officers arrived.

The weapon is believed to be a handgun and has not been recovered. Both victims are from the King County area of Washington and are not students at Washington State University. Detectives are following up on leads. Shortly after the shooting, Washington State University officials issued an alert to students via their emergency notification system since the location is adjacent to the WSU campus.
