AMBULANCE BILLING SERVICES

Pullman Fire Department has partnered with Systems Design West for Ambulance Billing Services. Systems Design provides customized ambulance billing, EMS billing, and accounting services exclusively for fire and rescue organizations throughout the western United States.

Fee Schedule

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW IF TRANSPORTED BY PULLMAN FIRE DEPARTMENT

 -The Pullman Fire Department is not affiliated with Pullman Regional Hospital; therefore, you will receive an invoice from the Pullman Fire Department for your ambulance transport.

-Pullman Fire Department Ambulance Transport Fees are set by Pullman City Council according to the Pullman City Code under Chapter 5.36; Resolution R-12-18.

-Fees shall be based on the response location, the level of care provided, and mileage for the distance the patient is transported. Fees for supplies and equipment used are bundled into the total transport cost. Pullman Fire Department EMS staff provides Basic Life Service (BLS) and Advanced Life Service (ALS) transports. Fees range from $900 to $1400 plus mileage at $17 per mile.

-Pullman Fire Department is prohibited by law from negotiating prices.

-It is the responsibility of the patient to provide the Patient Services staff with their mailing address, current insurance information, and signature to authorize insurance claims and payment of benefits. Providing this information promptly and directly to Patient Services staff will expedite the processing of your insurance claim.

Medical Records Request

PULLMAN FIRE DEPARTMENT - AMBULANCE MEDICAL RECORDS

Patients who are treated and transported by Pullman Fire Department Emergency Medical Services personnel may request a copy of their ambulance transport record also known as a Pre-Hospital Patient Care Report and other related documents.

Pre-Hospital Patient Care Reports are medical records, and as such, are protected under Federal and Washington State laws. Pullman Fire Department personnel follow strict guidelines to ensure confidentiality of the patient’s protected health information (also known as PHI). As healthcare providers, we are allowed to use and disclose patient health information for specific purposes without your authorization or notification. For details about our legal duties and privacy practices, please refer to the complete Notice of Privacy Practices available on our website. If you prefer a paper copy, one will be mailed to you upon request.

To obtain records, the patient or parent/legal guardian of a minor-age patient must complete and submit the Patient Consent for Disclosure and Release Affidavit of Pre-Hospital Medical Records request form.

The Pullman Fire Department is the municipal provider of pre-hospital emergency medical treatment and transport in Pullman, WA. As a health care provider, Pullman Fire Department, its officers, agents, and employees are required by law to maintain the privacy of health care information, known as protected health information (PHI), about individual patients. Pullman Fire Department strives to maintain the confidential nature of patient care records, abide by the terms of the notice currently in effect, and provide patients a notice setting forth how the Fire Department may use this information and to whom it may be disclosed.
