Emergency Cooling Shelter July

Extreme heat is predicted for Pullman in the coming days. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are potential dangers, especially for those without air conditioning or other cooling options. The City of Pullman will make available a cooling shelter for anyone with an emergency need to escape from extreme temperatures on July 30-31, noon to 7PM.

Personal Fireworks Strongly Discouraged

Unless the Governor declares a ‘State of Emergency’ and bans fireworks statewide, there is not a legal mechanism for temporarily banning fireworks locally. Therefore, in order to protect our communities, structures, and each other, citizens are strongly discouraged from using personal fireworks this year.

Monday, June 28, 2021 marks the opening of several fireworks stands in Pullman. Possession of illegal fireworks is a criminal misdemeanor. Fireworks may only be discharged during designated hours.
