Citizen Academy

Pullman PD and the Pullman Police Advisory Committee are pleased to host
ongoing sessions of the Pullman Police Citizen Academy!


This 11-week program provides a comprehensive overview of the Pullman Police Department,  
including presentations by subject matter experts, practical exercises, and facility tours. 

The application period for the 2023 Citizen Academy is now closed. Please check back for upcoming academy opportunities! 

Application Requirements
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age (those under 18 require parent/guardian consent); and must live, work, own property, or have some other affiliation with the City of Pullman.

Applicants must have NO felony convictions, and no recent misdemeanor convictions.

Applicants must consent to a background check, and may be denied acceptance based on the findings of this check, or any other lawful reasons, which may not be disclosed to the applicant. 

This program is a significant time commitment, and enrollment is limited. Applicants must commit to attendance of at least 75% of scheduled sessions. 


Session Schedule
Weekly academy sessions will be held from 6:30pm - 9:00pm on the following dates:
Session 1:  February 2, 2023
Session 2: February 9, 2023
Session 3: February 16, 2023
Session 4: February 23, 2023
Session 5: March 2, 2023
Session 6: March 9, 2023
Session 7: March 23, 2023
 Session 8: March 30, 2023
Session 9:  April 13, 2023
Session 10: April 20, 2023
Session 11 April 27, 2023
Participants will be invited to tour the Whitcom Regional Dispatch Center in March, with exact scheduling to be determined.

In addition, a Firearms Practical will be held: 
April 15, 2022:   9:30am - 12:00pm
