PULLMAN, WA—Starting Monday, September 26, contractor Motley-Motley, Inc., will begin pavement and curb reconstruction near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Center Street to repair damage caused by the water main break that occurred September 17. The work is expected to last through the end of the week.
The effort will focus on removal, excavation, and subsequent reconstruction in the following areas:
- Grand Avenue from Center Street to approximately 300 feet north; and
- The northern lane of Center Street from Grand Avenue to approximately 50 feet west.
Monday and Tuesday, Motley-Motley will repair the west side of Grand Avenue, which will be reduced to one lane with flaggers on the east side. Thereafter, work will switch to the east lane of Grand Avenue where crews will maintain two-way traffic on the arterial.
Roads may be rough and gravel-surfaced throughout the project, so motorists should drive cautiously, anticipate delays, and avoid the area, if possible. On-street parking will be prohibited in the work zone. Work hours are scheduled for weekdays from 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
