  • Children 7 years and under are REQUIRED to be supervised by a responsible caregiver 16 years old or older within arm’s reach and in the water at all times.
  • We recommend children ages 8 to 13 years old who have passed the swim test be actively supervised by a responsible caregiver 16 years old or older in the pool area.
  • Children 7 years and under and/or non-swimmers wearing flotation devices, require 1 caregiver per 5 swimmers in the water at all times.

Inclement Weather Policy:

In the event of thunder or lightning, PAFC and Reaney Park Pool will close for 30 minutes, from the last flash of lightning or the last bang of thunder. Refunds will not be issued for drop-in customers or program participants. Inclement weather one-time passes will be handed out instead. For your safety, we actively monitor Internet and airport weather sites. Programs cancelled due to weather are not guaranteed to be rescheduled or refunded.

Swim Test:

To complete the swim test, a participant must: Swim first half-length of lap pool on their back, any style, turn on to front, and swim remaining half-length of the pool on front, face-in, with no goggles. Immediately upon completion of the length of pool, tread water 1 minute in deep end.

Late to Lessons/Lesson Cancellation Policy:

Late patrons may still join their lessons late, but the lesson will not run past the originally scheduled end time. Refund Policy
When Parks, Facilities, & Recreation cancels a program:
Participants will have four options:
   1. 100% refund of program fee.
   2. Transfer to another program.
   3. Transfer fee to your customer account to be used at a later date.
   4. Donate the registration fee to the Care-to-Share scholarship program.

When a program participant cannot attend an activity or a RV/facility permit holder wishes to cancel:
1. The Parks, Facilities, & Recreation office must be notified three business days (excluding holidays) Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm prior to the program/reservation start date; unless an earlier cutoff date is noted. (Example: if a program/reservation starts on a Monday, notification must be received the prior Wednesday no later than 5:00pm). Participants must talk to a Parks, Facilities, & Recreation employee; phone and email messages will not be accepted as notice of refund.
2. Program participants and RV/facility permit holders will have four options:
    A. Transfer to another program or date.
    B. Receive a refund minus a $15 administration fee per refund voucher.
    C. Transfer fee to your customer account to be used at a later date.
    D. Donate the registration fee to the Care-to-Share scholarship program.
Refunds for $15.00 or less may only be applied to customer account or donated to the Care-to-Share scholarship program.
3. With less than three business days’ notice, but prior to the program/reservation start date, program participants and RV/facility permit holders may receive a 50% refund minus a $15 processing fee; credit or transfer full value to another program or reservation date less any costs already incurred by the department (ex. Supplies purchased by instructor/department). If at a later date a refund is requested, monies refunded will be charged a $15 processing fee. Should the requested cancellation reduce the program participation level below the required minimum, no refund will be given. No credit card or check refunds will be granted the day a program starts or after, but participants may transfer (prorated value) to another session or to customer account as long as class minimums are maintained. Day of cancellations for RV/facility permit holders will be granted but are subject to a one day facility/reservation use charge and a $15 processing fee. RV/facility permit holders may transfer the remaining balance to a future reservation or to customer account.
4. If you are dissatisfied with the content of a program, you may receive a full refund if you notify the office prior to the second class of a program.
5. No cash refunds will be given. Refunds are only issued to the account holder by check or to original credit card used for payment.
6. Requests that do not meet the above requirements may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Recreation Manager or Parks & Facilitates Director or their designee.

Did you know?

There are frequent questions we get about the use of the pools at the Pullman Aquatic & Fitness Center. Here is some useful information to help answer those frequent questions about policy and pool rules.
  • Did you now that it is required by State code to shower before entering a pool. This ensures the cleanliness of the swimmers and of the pool itself. Showering before swimming will help keep your skin and hair in great shape.

  •  Did you know that the pool smell on your skin can actually be minimized by showering before you go swimming. The dirt, sweat, deodorant or body lotion on your skin actually combines with the chlorine causing a chemical reaction and will make you smell like chlorine mixed with ammonia. So to combat that pool smell you should always shower before and after using the pool.

  • Did you know that there are documented cases of people being struck by lightening while using the bathroom and talking on the phone. If the Pullman Aquatic & Fitness Center were to be struck by lightening the whole building would become "one big bathroom". So when there is thunder and lightening we close the facility as a precaution to keep our patrons and staff safe. And because of the unpredictability of acts of weather we don't offer refunds, but try our best to reschedule cancelled programs.
