City of Pullman Winter Update 20-21

The current weather forecast is calling for snow accumulation ranging between 5” – 7”, to fall between Friday evening, October 23, and Saturday, October 24.

As we prepare for this type of winter weather event, it is essential to prepare the streets in an effort to prevent ice bonding to the asphalt. Friday, during standard working hours, liquid anti-icing agent, and road salt will be applied to area roadways, in advance of the storm. Preparation activities will continue until snow accumulation dictates the use of sanding aggregate/salt mix, and plowing efforts be implemented. Once plowing operations have begun, crews will continue plowing, ensuring at least one pass on each city street, which we anticipate will extend into Saturday. Crews are scheduled to evaluate and take appropriate action based on findings, on both Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25.

*Please note, the plan of action identified above will be adjusted if necessary. Winter weather is unpredictable, and crews are always ready to respond as needed.
