PULLMAN, WA—On Monday, October 3, Grand Avenue paving will resume and a couple other projects are set to begin. Please maintain safety around any work zones by slowing down and heeding posted signage and direction from traffic control. Here’s what to expect:
Road Repair at Grand and Center
Due to the damaged subgrade from Thursday’s rain showers, Grand Avenue paving will be delayed until Monday. Two-way traffic is open today through the weekend with some rough patches. Center Street from Grand to State is currently closed to eastbound traffic, but travelers turning off Grand Avenue onto Center Street can still do so.
If the weather is fair as expected, crews from Motley-Motley, Inc., will re-prep the area and pave the east lane starting Monday. Crews will conduct a one-way flagging operation during this time. Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route to avoid delays.
Survey Work in Downtown
To fulfill preliminary work for Project Downtown Pullman, a crew with Welch-Comer Engineers will be surveying downtown Pullman starting Monday and ending Friday, October 7. Work times will be 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Traffic control will close lanes as needed, but not entire streets. Flaggers will be on site to assist. Traffic interruption should be minimal.
Crack Filling
To extend the life of Pullman’s roads, contractor Stripes-A-Lot will help fill cracks in the asphalt throughout the city, starting up at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. Crews are expected to finish the project on Wednesday, October 5. This is a mobile operation with crews working in a variety of areas. Please be aware of moving traffic control.
