PULLMAN, WA—The workgroup overseeing implementation of Pullman’s Strategic Tourism Plan announces a Pullman Unifying Branding event to take place October 19, at 5:15 p.m. in Pullman City Hall, Building A. Anyone interested in attending can sign up at
SignUpGenius.
The event is part of a three-day charrette led by consultants Arnett Muldrow & Associates. Participants will engage in a discussion designed to receive input into questions about Pullman’s distinct character, such as:
- What makes Pullman’s personality appealing?
- How does Pullman distinguish itself from other communities?
- How would Pullman be personified?
By the end of the charrette, Arnett Muldrow & Associates will combine inspiration from the public input session, facilitated focus groups, and area tours to develop a comprehensive place branding system for the community. This will be a package of marketing pieces, messages, and implementation tools for multiple partners that encourages a unified effort to reinforce the assets of Pullman. The package of place brand designs will be refined over the coming months.
“The committee felt this strategy was the best way to start implementing the Tourism Plan,” said Pullman Councilwoman and Chair of the Strategic Tourism Plan Workgroup, Pat Wright. “This work will set the stage for future investments and collaboration, like wayfinding in downtown, a new visitor guide, and event recruitment. We value everybody’s input into this process, and hope the public will participate in this engaging discussion.”
Final designs and accompanying brand elements will be available for use by the City and its tourism and promotion partners by Spring 2023. Funding to develop a unifying brand is being provided by the City’s lodging tax.
