Using Your Library

Get A Library Card

Library cards are free and available to everyone. Call (509) 334-3595 or stop by the front desk to register.
Adults need to show a photo ID and proof of current address for a full card. Adults without documents may register for a temporary card.
Youth may have their own card, with authorization from a parent or guardian.

Borrow It All

Search our catalog to discover books, movies, audiobooks, and more;  or browse eBooks and eAudiobooks via Washington Anytime Library (website) or Libby (app).

If we don't have what you're looking for, fill out the Suggest a Title form and we'll look into purchasing or borrowing a copy for you from another library. Items owned by other libraries may have different loan periods.

Loan Periods
DVDs, hotspots, and magazines - 1 week
Discover Pass - 1 week, no renewal
Book Club Kits - 6 weeks, no renewal
Everything else - 3 weeks
Items can be renewed twice when there are no holds on them, excluding Book Club Kits and Discover Passes.

Loan Limits
New DVDs - 6 per card
Book Club Kits - 2 per card
Discover Pass - 1 per card
Ozobot kits - 1 per card
All loans will automatically renew twice unless requested by another patron.

Fines & Fees
Life happens, so we give you a one-day grace period on all due dates. Overdue fines are 25 cents per day per item, to a maximum of $6 per checkout.
Lost or damaged items are charged at replacement cost, plus a $5 processing fee.
Borrowing privileges are temporarily suspended when $10+ is owed.  Accounts with a balance of $50+ are assigned to a collection agency.

Work & Connect

Use a computer or WiFi
Library computer workstations offer internet access, Microsoft Office applications, and black and white printing.
Prefer to use your own device?  The WiFi network is  Neill Public Library  (no password).  You will be prompted to review terms of use upon connecting.

Book a meeting space
The Edith G. Hecht Meeting Room is free to use and can be reserved by library cardholders. Meeting room users must abide by the Meeting Room Use Policy.

Just need a spot to read or chat?
There are plenty in the Heritage Addition of the library, and we wouldn't want to boast, but the floor-to-ceiling windows are a nice touch, too.  If you'd rather be outdoors, have a seat on the patio, where there are benches and a table.

Print documents using one of our computer workstations or directly from your own device
The first three (3) printed pages are free; additional pages are 25 cents each for black and white or $1 for color, single-sided, letter size (8.5" x 11").
To print from your own device:
  1. Scan the QR code at the library OR go to print.princh.com and enter the 6-digit printer ID: 106169.
  2. Upload your document(s).
  3. Choose black and white or color.
  4. Enter your email address.
  5. Release and pay for your print job at the Print Release kiosk using the email address you entered. (Documents remain in the print queue for 24 hours.)
Make copies
Black and white, single- and double-sided photocopying is available for 10 cents per side.  Letter size (8.5" x 11") only.

Scan or fax
The scanning station is free to use and allows users to save their scanned documents or send them via email or fax to others.
